The Library Hours

Summer Semester Hours (May 14–July 26, 2012)
The Library is open:

Sunday: Noon–7:00 p.m.

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.

The Library is closed on:

Sunday–Monday, May 27–28: Shavuot and Memorial Day weekend

Wednesday, July 4: Independence Day

The Library is closed on Friday and Saturday.
Summer Break Hours (July 30–August 30, 2012)
The Library is open:

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

The Library is closed on:

Monday, September 3: Labor Day

Fall Semester Hours resume on Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Special Collections Hours


Access to the Special Collections is by appointment. We ask that you make an appointment one week in advance to enable us to prepare the materials for you. Please call (212) 678-8077 or email for an appointment to visit during these hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: Noon–5:00 p.m.

For Archives, please complete the Use of Archives Request Form. For Jewish Art, please phone (212) 678-8975.

The Library is closed on all Jewish holidays and on the following national holidays:
